Big-Kats is a quaint village accessible from Listvyanka by boat

Big-Kats is a very small village accessible from Listvyanka only by foot, horseback, or boat. In the winter the path by boat is restricted because of the frozen lake. Lake Baikal will freeze over from January through May of each year and the route to Big-Kats is accomplished by driving your car on the often one meter thick ice. The lady in the foreground above, Jenya, has a dacha with her mother, Tanya, in Big-Kats.
